I believe I had mentioned the Fifty Linden Fridays in here already – yes, I could check it but I’m sort in a hurry to go to work, lol.

I think I started doing the Friday Shopping almost from the start, when the first shops joined to put up this awesome initiative and I soon noticed this gathered a lot of my own faves. Since then, I have to confess that the first thing I do on Fridays whenever I get to work is loggin and spend some cash, hehehe

Yesterday, even though I didn’t buy the Fishy Strawberry 50L$ item, I totally fell for this jeans and top, and I couldn’t resist wearing them at once. That’s a store totally worth visiting and shopping, it gathers so many styles that’s quite impossible for you not to find something that you will like.

Fashion details:

Hair: fri.day Tatum
Outfit: *Fishy Strawberry* Equinox Jeans with Poisonous Lotus Top

Boots: *Kookie* Pomski Coffee Candy Boots

… while shopping after these bargain items I looked around and was again pretty amazed at some avatars who were also doing the friday Tour. Which gave me an idea that I hope I'll have the chance to materialise. *winks

Well, it is only fair to say that !Style Starts Here once again showed us all what is a good customer service. Version 1.25 of the DANGEROUS Texture and Tint Changing Heels was released yesterday and they’re all I was praying for. A new set of skin textures was added, and this time it only took me some 10 minutes to find a perfect match. Plus the left anklet was put back, and now we can wear them both, just one or none as we please.

This is what really good designers do: they listen to their customers, and they find solutions to please them. Now, if you need a proof of what I am saying, just have a look at the picture below:

No editing AT ALL, picture croped for a closer look

All parts customisable… meaning I’m going to wear this sandals over and over throughout the whole year! And now yes, I totally advise you all to run there and grab them, this is the only pair of shoes you will ever need, hehehe

First time I saw something similar to “real toes” it was when anjali Insoo showed me her sandals from J’s Main Shop way back last year. I really enjoyed them but as it was Winter I felt I wouldn’t wear them much, so I kept the demo in my inventory and did nothing. Lately, as I started wearing some more springish outifts and dresses again, I began thinking about them again – about that same time, I noticed Stephen Psaltery from !Style Starts Here had released an amazing pair of sandals, with lots of options. Finally, as the idea matured in my mind, Ana Lutetia posted about SLink recently released sandals, and this ended up helping me make up my mind.

Today, I decided this was the day, so I made a tour among the three stores. SLink has indeed very nice models at 500 L$ the pair and 3.250 L$ for a pack with 13 different colours; J’s was the cheaper store, with his sandals at only 380 L$ each pair and 1400 for the full pack with six colours. All things considered, and although Mr. Psaltery had not made available any demo of his products, I decided his sandals would be the best choice – for 950L$ I would get a full HUD customisable pair of sandals, that would allow me to match my skins, change nail colours, choose the colour of the sandal stripes and of the shoe base accordingly to any possible outfit and even choose among several gem colours that beautiful decorate the shoes. This was not the first time I betted on Stephen Psaltery’ work, as his ankle boots are my favourites in the whole grid (yes, I prefer them over Maitreya’s and Bax’s).

So I bought them… and there’s where my issues started. Not over the sandals themselves, since they are everything I could want and even more – but over matching the prim foot with my skin. Luckily, I started with my favourite tone of the Geminy line skin by Cupcakes, since I own a lot of those and I wear them more often then any other. But finding the perfect tone was a real pain in the but.

I started by choosing the colour that came closer to my skin tone, then played a bit with the RGB sliders. Because the results were not brilliant, I followed one of Ana Lutetia’s tips , shoot a picture of my legs, looked for the skin’s RGB in GIMP and copied the corresponding values. It didn’t work either, and I had to fiddle a lot more with the Hud RGB sliders until I found a result I could at least call satisfactory.

Then, as I zoomed in and out, I think I figured out what the issue was: while the Cupcakes skin is spotless and soft looking, the skin texture on the sandals have some dark spots. That is, for as much as I get them close to my skin tone, they still look odd, as if I was wearing boots, because the texture is not smooth. They are not mody, meaning I cannot even use my skin texture on the prims that model the foot. So I’m stuck with sandals that most probably will wear only with pants, when I really wanted some to wear with dresses and skirts. I feel a bit dumb, and decided to punish myself not buying any of the others, even though J’s are not that expensive and only the toes are primsy, which makes them a lot easier to match with the skin colour.

Here below is the result. And yes, I feel disapointed. Such an awesome work and spoiled because of this detail. I thought about IMing the guy, we have been in touch before and he was always amazingly generous and available… but then, if every one of his customers were to do the same thing – like asking him to use our skin texture in a specific pair of sandals for us, I guess he wouldn’t be doing anything else within the next couple of months, so I gave up. Then again, I am aware this might raise copyright issues, so I decided not to take that path.

*sighs* Yes, sometimes we have to make silly options to learn… But anyway i still think at least a demo at !Style Starts Here would be helpful – maybe other people’s skins are easier to match, for one reason or another…

On a side note, while I was at J’s researching for this post:
[13:44] Miss X. Allen: hello, please, can you tell me where did you find your beautiful shoes? Well… can it be me complicating things ? LOL

My love story with the Couture Ankle Boots started at Club Majestic, during a live concert by Pa Decosta. The hostess was wearing them and for some reason they catched my eye AT ONCE. It was a serious case of love at first sight – and soon I found myself inspecting them… only to find out they were built by Stephen Psaltery, in which profile I only saw references to Simone Stern’s store.

Ignorant me, I had never heard of Style Starts Here, Simone’s new venture, and therefore was unsure about the information I had just picked up. Then, Petros kindly offered to ask the girl where had she bought those boots (yes, I know this is how he gets my agreement on him opening IMs to strangers LOL).

Having confirmed the information, I headed to this *new* store… and immediately noticed THE BOOTS on this huge board. I have to confess it was really hard to pick up the black ones amongst all those amazing colours, just because I finally convinced me at least they would match any outfit colour – and I moaned and moaned about them not having a fat pack.

I took my moans and whinnings to plurk and Ana Lutetia & Cat Magellan encouraged me to send an IM to the designer – and so I did. Now, just imagine how delighted I was when Stephen reverted to me saying that a fat pack would come soon.

There… drool, as I did. They are… just purrfect. My favourite heels and an amazing shape. Several other colours available besides these one – purple and blue, for instance. Detailed faultless texture and a built-in menu allowing us to turn heel walk sounds on and off and adjust the ankle prim size. *Holds her boots and pets them*

And the colours, oh myyy! The fat packs allow us to choose between ankle prims with text and ankle prims without text. Just a small note, out of my personal taste: it would be awesome to have one of the brown tones without text, for they are totally yummy… and no fat added, thus being good for your health *laughs*.

What made me feel even healthier ? When I returned to the store, I met Stephen’s most recent creation: the Better Than Sex boots… these come with a totally new and awesome feature: a drop-down menu that allows to decorate the boots with up to eight different tiny little charms designed by Simone herself. One can choose to wear the whole set of charms, or pick up those we want to wear at a given time – isn’t that NEAT? Plus, one may also choose among several sole colours… and of course, resize to best fit our lovely ankles *winks*

Have a look:

… one thing for sure – these shoes are not to be thrown away at no one !!! *laughs maniacally and runs away, still holding all her boots*

LATEST NEWS – seems that a new boot style was just released… oh myyyy *clicks desperatly on tp there*!
