It’s not the first time I think that FL designers would have a lot to learn with their peers in SL. Obviously, FL creators cannot spoil their customers as SL can, each gift in the physical world implies costs with fabric, equipment, manwork, delivery and logistics, etc. But bear with me for a bit and just think about all the work that designers in-world go through to keep us motivated, in an environment that is more and more competitive each passing day.
The fashion world has been evolving in awesome ways – I really have to dump most of my early days outfits, for as much as I enjoyed them at the time I bought them, they are totally useless now, when compared with the new texturing and shadowing that we are being offered currently.
Have you thought that avatars don’t really have to wear any clothes ? I mean, it’s not like we would die of cold, for instance, if we strolled around as we first rezzed, right ? Unlike the place where our flesh and bones actually live, there is no really need to covering our bodies and even the shy ones could jsut drop anything over their virtual new-comer skins and that would be perfectly alright.
Now, the point is… this being a graphic environment, our designers don’t spare any efforts to entice us to look amazing. I have to admit that I really admire their energy – nowadays, I see them creating specific items for each hunt they get involved in, then designing other articles for their groups, having yet other that are offered freely to everyone… uff, I wonder where do they still gather any imagination to draw items for regular sale, LOL
In previous posts, I stated that offering samples of their work was one of the best ways to announce their products. Because I still believe in it, I invite you all to take a look at this:
The .::Fashion Bar PeppermintBlue::. group offered today to all their members a gift to celebrate its being over 2500 members now (if you’re fast enough and join in, you’ll still find it in the recent history of the subscrthingie). Ms. Alice07 Barzane is someone whose work at the Fasion Bar is only to be praised, and what better occasion than this one ? In case you’re a new-comer, the Fashion Bar is no doubt one of the first places I would recommend you to visit ! This outfit comes with both short pants and regular jeans, which in turn has two versions, allowing us to wear it with shoes or boots. The hair is included in the pack as well, a gift from Khryzteen Maggs (Sweet&Pop Designs) in just one tone… but it’s a perfect one, I would say, hehehe.
Digging in my inventory, I found EVA Angelina’s boots, which I bought a while ago and that, together with the Miriel eyes, are the only paid items I am wearing in the picture. The lovely skin was another gift from Rockberry (yeaps, the Cinderella Lost Slipper Hunt is totally worth doing!). Finally, the earrings, came from Bella Bombast from Uzuri who was kind enough to drop me a zillion of amazing thingies that I will be sharing with you soon.
All in all… for all your hard work, commitment, patience and endless enthusiasm – thank you, guys, you are no doubt an example of professionalism that I wish many FL designers would follow !
